Persoit cello bow

This is my first attempt to copy a bow that I really loved. It's a bow by Persoit. It was originally thought to be by Grand Adam but was later authenticated as a work by Persoit.
I really was taken by the beauty of the stick and the amazing workmanship. It showed the freedom that the early masters had in that they made on an individual basis. In other words, they didn't make in groups (often 6 at a time) like later French makers so each bow had a very strong personality.
The result was a bow that I, in reality, only copied the head. The frog and button were loosely based on the original but I just followed my eye once I had the basic dimensions and outline.
At any rate, it's a favourite of mine for no other reason than it was the first bow that I let myself explore possibilities within a given framework.
